My name is Jesse Buck, and I’m the founder of Kayfabe Streetwear, an independent streetwear brand I launched here in Perth.
I’ve had a passion for graphic design and clothing since I was a kid. As a teenager, I created the “KF” logo and operated under the name “Kayfabe Graphic Design.” For years I dreamed of starting my own clothing brand, but I kept putting it off because I was intimidated by the idea of running a business.
Now, at 26 years old, engaged, and raising two young children under 3, I decided it was time to stop waiting and pursue the dream I’d been carrying for years.
I built Kayfabe Streetwear entirely on my own. I have no investors, no fashion industry background, and no team behind me. Everything from the branding, graphic design, product concepts, marketing, website, photography, and creative direction has been developed by me while working full-time and making sure I remain present as a father and partner.
My goal isn’t simply to build a clothing brand. I want to create a future where I can support my family doing something I’m genuinely passionate about, while showing my children that taking a chance on your ambitions is possible with enough dedication and persistence.
The business has been built in the small windows of free time that come with raising a young family. Late nights, early mornings, and weekends have gone into learning, refining, designing, and building every detail. I’ve studied business and marketing, spent countless hours researching the industry, and have become obsessed with perfecting even the smallest elements of the brand.
I recently launched my first major collection, “OCCULT,” a cohesive streetwear collection featuring a distinctive dark aesthetic inspired by typography, symbolism, and vintage-inspired design. It’s something I’ve been developing since before Kayfabe Streetwear officially launched and represents years of creative ideas finally coming to life.
I believe my story is one that many young Australians can relate to—balancing work, family, financial pressures, and the desire to build something meaningful from the ground up.
If you feel it could be a good fit for your publication, I’d love the opportunity to chat further or arrange an interview.
